What is Data Analytics?
Data Analytics is the process of examining data to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, trends, and insights that can be used to make informed business decisions. By utilizing various statistical and computational techniques, businesses and organizations can extract valuable information from their data, enabling them to understand their operations better, identify areas for improvement, and make strategic decisions. These insights allow businesses to better understand their customers, optimize operations, predict trends and forecasts, enhance decision making and drive innovation.
My Work Processes
- I start by meeting with the stakeholders to understand their objectives, goals, and requirements for the data analytics project.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops (where neccessary) to gather detailed information about the desired outcomes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and specific data needs.
- Document the requirements comprehensively, ensuring clarity and alignment with stakeholders' expectations.
- Identify the sources of data required for analysis, including internal databases, third-party sources, APIs, and other data repositories.
- Gather and extract relevant data from various sources, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Cleanse and preprocess the data to address issues such as missing values, duplicates, inconsistencies, and outliers.
- Develop wireframes or mockups of the analytics solution, outlining the layout, visualizations, and user interface elements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine the wireframes, ensuring alignment with their requirements and preferences.
- Incorporate feedback and iterate on the design until stakeholders are satisfied with the proposed solution.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to gain insights into the dataset, identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
- Apply statistical techniques to analyze the data and derive actionable insights.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Create meaningful visualizations, charts, and graphs that effectively communicate key findings and support decision-making.
- Conduct a thorough review of the analytics solution with stakeholders, demonstrating how it addresses their requirements and objectives.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate any necessary revisions or enhancements to the solution.
- Provide training and support to users to ensure they understand how to interpret and utilize the analytics solution effectively.
- Monitor adoption and usage of the analytics solution, gathering feedback and insights to continuously improve its functionality and usability.
