The company needs to understand:

  • The popularity of different authors and book titles based on ratings.
  • The distribution of books across various languages and publishers.
  • Trends in book ratings and sales over the years.
  • The performance of different publishers in terms of the number of books published.

To analyze the provided data and create a comprehensive dashboard that visualizes key metrics, helping the company understand its performance and make data-driven decisions.

Steps

Data Collection and Preparation:

  • The initial dataset was provided, which included various metrics related to book sales, ratings, and other relevant information.
  • Data transformation and cleaning were performed using Power Query to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Data Analysis:

  • DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) measures were created to perform advanced calculations. These measures helped in deriving insights such as total ratings, average ratings, and performance trends over the years.
  • Key metrics were analyzed, including the number of books published by each publisher, ratings by author and book title, and the distribution of books across different languages.

Visualization:

  • A visually appealing dashboard was built to communicate the insights effectively. The dashboard included various charts and graphs to represent the data, such as bar charts for ratings by author and book title, line charts for ratings by year, and pie charts for the distribution of books by language and publisher.

Insights and Reporting:

  • The dashboard provided a comprehensive view of the company’s performance, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Insights were derived from the visualizations, such as identifying top-performing authors and books, understanding the impact of different publishers, and analyzing the growth in ratings over the years.

Outcome
